Welcome to Howe Elementary
Julia Ward Howe Elementary holds a unique and proud distinction: it was one of the first schools in the entire country to be named after a woman. Since opening in 1928, Howe has been a welcoming, community-centered school where students are inspired by a pioneering legacy and encouraged to create their own path in the world.

Tennis Courts Closed: August 6-15
The Mt. Lebanon High School tennis courts will be closed August 6–15, 2026, for scheduled cleaning and repairs.

Kick Off The Fall Sports Season With The Blue Devils!
Join us on Friday, August 15, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon High School Stadium for the Blue Devils Kickoff festival. Enjoy a family fun zone, local food trucks, field competitions, community partners, and performances by our cheer, dance, and band programs before cheering on Mt. Lebanon football. It's a great opportunity for students, family, alumni, and the community to come together and celebrate the start of another exciting school year.

2026-2027 Howe Back to School Information Is Here!
Our Back to School email includes everything Howe families need to prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, including key August dates, PowerSchool schedule instructions, school day details, first-day resources, and staff updates.
A few highlights:
- First Day of School: August 18 (Kindergarten starts August 20)
- Student schedules are now accessed through the PowerSchool Portal. The Handbook & Technology Signoff Forms must be completed first.
- The Hoover Weekly newsletter kicks off with the District's Sunday newsletter starting August 16.
