A Message from Our Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Family, and Visitors:
My name is Matthew Rizzutto and I am the new principal at Howe Elementary School. I want to express my sincere excitement for the upcoming school year. I am looking forward to meeting and welcoming your student back to our building and partnering with you this year. At Mt. Lebanon School District, we are committed to “providing the best education possible for each and every student.”
My personal goal is to prepare students to become more confident, independent, and lifelong learners. This school year, I intend to build and strengthen our community, foster positive relationships and rapport between home and school, and work together with you to ensure any and all of your questions and concerns are addressed. Please do not hesitate to contact me throughout the school year. I appreciate and value your suggestions and feedback. I am here for you and all students.
I graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology and received my Master’s degree in Special Education. I hold a Supervisory of Special Education Certificate from Slippery Rock University and earned my K-12 Principal's Certification through California University of PA. Prior to joining the Mt. Lebanon School District, I served the last three years as elementary principal with the Big Beaver Falls Area School District. I also have experience working as an Evaluation Coordinator, Behavioral Specialist, and have ten years of classroom experience as an elementary Special Education Teacher. I am passionate about education, am student centered, and will always put the safety and needs of our students and staff first. I will work to enhance a safe, fun, positive school culture and climate at Howe Elementary.
Howe Elementary is and will continue to be a safe, exciting, caring, learning environment that strives to provide and promote high levels of learning and social and emotional care and development. I am honored to be a part of your child’s learning path and look forward to sharing in and rejoicing with you in your children's successes.
I look forward to collaborating with you and working together as we prepare and move forward this school year. I am so excited to greet our students as they return to school and see their smiling faces as they meet their amazing teachers, our staff, and see old and new friends.
On behalf of the outstanding teachers and staff of Howe Elementary School, I would like to welcome you to another wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Matthew Rizzutto
Principal
