Greetings Potential Elves!

     Fall is upon us and your head elf is already hard at work getting ready for Howe's About a Gift - Howe's winter shop where students can shop for their loved ones and practice their shopping and budgeting skills.  This shop doesn't just appear out of thin air though!  It takes many hands and much creativity to create all of the inventory.  You can be part of the magic! Crafts can be worked on in the privacy of your own home or during one or more of the craft nights we have planned:

• October 8 & 23

• November 7, 12, & 20

Howe's PTA is excited to start accepting entries for Reflections. Reflections is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. Art Categories include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. 20th Annual Family Reading Night!

The Sunny Funny Fair is our biggest FUNdraising event of the year. The grounds around Howe are transformed into a carnival, with over 40 games, activities, craft stations, cake walk. Kids play games to earn points that can be cashed in for prizes, and food is available for purchase. This event is open to the entire family and surrounding community. 

Howe’s Annual Sunny Funny Fair is Saturday!
 

When:  Saturday, September 21st  from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m  (Rain or shine).

What:  The Sunny Funny Fair is the PTA’s biggest FUNdraising event of the year. The grounds around Howe are transformed with over 40 games, activities, craft stations, and even a cake walk. Kids play a variety of carnival games to earn points that can be cashed in for awesome prizes.  Lunch foods and snacks are available for purchase. 

Who:  This event is open to the entire family and surrounding community, so be sure to tell your neighbors and friends.

HOWE to help make the Sunny Funny Fair a success:

1. Volunteer your time.  We are in GREAT need of volunteers on the day of the event.  Mature middle and high school students are welcome and can earn volunteer hours.   Click here to signup for one hour increments; there are also slots for donating baked goods and refreshments.

2. Donate an item toward your homeroom’s raffle basket.
Basket themes have been assigned to each homeroom.  We ask each family to consider sending one new item for your homeroom’s theme.  Items will be combined into baskets and raffled off during the fair.  The drop-off for Raffle basket items has been extended to end-of-day Monday, Sept 16th inside the main school entrance.

3. Invite your friends, family and neighbors to join you!  In-person presale tickets and play-all-day wristbands will be sold in front of the school on Thursday and Friday before (8:15-8:45 a.m.) and after (3:15-3:45 p.m.) school, or click here to purchase play-all-day passes in advancefor a discount.  The play-all-day wristband gives you unlimited access to games at the Sunny Funny Fair.  The special presale price is $25 per wristband. The price goes up to $30 the day of the fair.  Wristbands purchased online will be available to pick up at the ticket table the day of the fair.  Buy early, save money, and avoid the lines!  The pre-sale wristbands will be available for sale online until 11:59 PM on Friday, September 20.

Howe Elementary School is thrilled to partner with Treering again, for our 2024-2025 school yearbook. Treering is a reputable company that provides easy-to-use photo upload and mobile app features to ensure each yearbook captures a comprehensive collection of memories of the school year and of each individual student.

HELLO! Howe Families,

An enormous aspect of our yearbook each year consists of photos submitted by you! Without your photo contributions throughout the year our yearbook wouldn’t be possible. 

You can submit your photos all year round by uploading them to the yearbook website at https://web.treering.com/school/249265/2024/school-content/school-photos. You can also send them via email to yearbook@howepta.org.

Lunch Clubs are fun, enriching activities sponsored by the Howe PTA that kids can participate in over the lunch recess! 

Signups indicate your permission for participation by your child and help us to ensure sufficient supplies. There is no cost to sign up and participate (Thanks, PTA!). 

Spirit Center

 

 

Spirit Center will be opening soon! Spirit Center is a PTA sponsored and 5th grader run store that happens during lunch recess. All students are welcome to shop! Prices range from $0.25 to $3. Cash and SKATE coins accepted. Items this year include fun erasers, pencils, pens, squish balls, bookmarks, and more!

Our  first sale will be on October 24th!

Eagle Scout and Howe alumni Mason McBride presented an amazing plan to paint the blacktop area.  The addition of 7 games including basketball courts, reinstating the US Map, four square, a trackway, copy me (like dance-dance revolution); hopscotch, and a sensory pathway will greatly improve recess on the blacktop for all students! 

Mason is raising funds for materials. Please see the following Gofundme link if you are interested in contributing: Revamping Howe Elementary Black Top. The project will be completed by next fall.
